My work has always been heavily influenced by 1960’s pop artists from Warhol to Lichtenstein; this first collage embraced this movement while allowing me to bring my own sense of craft and obsession for detail. Inspired by a picture of a 1950’s comic book character, I adored the simpler more refined style from the drawing while also perceiving the opportunity to play with scale, colour and introduce a tactile quality.
